Creamy Cajun Wild Turkey Pasta

by Chef Tony on Aug 05, 2026
Creamy Cajun Wild Turkey Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 wild turkey breast (or 2–4 turkey tenderloins), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 cup banana peppers or bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 2 cups half & half
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Cajun seasoning, to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Cook the penne pasta according to package directions until al dente.

Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Sear the Wild Turkey

Season the turkey pieces generously with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat.

Add the turkey and sear until browned on all sides and cooked through.

Remove the turkey from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3: Build the Cajun Cream Sauce

Using the same skillet, add the diced onion and sliced peppers.

Cook until softened, about 4–5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Pour in the chicken stock and bring to a simmer.

Reduce the heat slightly and stir in the half & half and softened cream cheese.

Continue stirring until the cream cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

Add the parmesan cheese and season with additional Cajun seasoning to taste.

Step 4: Bring Everything Together

Return the cooked wild turkey to the skillet.

Add the cooked penne pasta and toss until everything is evenly coated in the creamy Cajun sauce.

Allow the mixture to simmer for several minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the pasta.

Step 5: Serve

Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley and additional parmesan cheese if desired.

Serve hot and enjoy.

Serving Suggestions

Pair this pasta with:

  • Garlic bread
  • Side salad
  • Roasted vegetables
  • Grilled asparagus

For a little extra heat, add a dash of hot sauce or an extra sprinkle of Cajun seasoning before serving.

TaggedOut Tip

Don't overcook the wild turkey during the searing step. Since it will finish cooking in the sauce, pulling it from the skillet once it's browned helps keep it tender and juicy.

This Creamy Cajun Wild Turkey Pasta is the perfect combination of comfort food and wild game cooking, bringing bold Southern flavors together with one of the most underrated meats in the woods.
